Queen Anne Furniture
Queen Anne furniture originated in England during the first part of the 18th
century when the English craftsmen created a distinctive style of their own. It
is elegant and sparingly decorated and has smooth graceful flowing lines with
high lacquer finishes. The cabriole leg is a distinctive part of the furniture and
many times has a padded or ball and claw foot. The Queen Anne style is still
very popular today. It has traditionally been used in formal areas, but can be
used to accent any area in the home. Most Queen Anne furniture is made
from walnut and mahogany.
